Payment Methods

Last updated: 25 January 2026

This page explains the payment methods available on Cafetronix and how payments work at checkout. We’ve written this to be clear and accurate, so customers know exactly what to expect.

Key point: The checkout page always shows the payment options available for your specific order before you pay. Some options appear immediately, and others may be shown under a “+” (for example “+5”) next to the card logos. That “+” is a normal Shopify display feature that groups additional supported card networks.

Payment options available at checkout

Cafetronix uses Shopify checkout and supports the payment methods shown below.

Credit & Debit Cards (Card Payment)

You can pay by credit or debit card through our secure checkout.

How card brands are displayed in checkout (important):

  • Shopify may show a few card logos first (for example Visa, Maestro and Mastercard).

  • Next to those logos you may see a “+” (for example “+5”).

  • Clicking/tapping the “+” shows additional supported card networks that are also accepted for card payments.

What this means in plain terms:

  • You are still choosing Credit/Debit Card as the payment method.

  • The “+” is only a way of showing more supported card brands without cluttering the screen.

  • If your card is from any of the supported networks shown at checkout (including those under the “+”), you can pay normally by entering your card details.

Card networks (as commonly supported/visible in Shopify card checkout):
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, Elo, and other supported networks that may appear in the checkout card-brand list.

The exact list of card brand logos you see can vary by device, browser, and how Shopify displays the checkout, but the Credit/Debit Card option remains the same.

PayPal

PayPal may be available as a separate option at checkout. If it is displayed, you can select PayPal and complete payment using your PayPal account or PayPal-supported methods.

Shop Pay

Shop Pay may be available at checkout. If shown, you can use Shop Pay to complete payment more quickly.

Klarna

Klarna may be available at checkout for eligible orders. If Klarna is shown, you can choose it and follow Klarna’s on-screen steps.

Google Pay

Google Pay may be available at checkout on supported devices and browsers where Google Pay is enabled. If it is displayed, you can select it and confirm payment through Google Pay.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay may be available at checkout on supported Apple devices/browsers (for example iPhone/iPad/Safari) where Apple Pay is enabled. If it is displayed, you can select Apple Pay and confirm payment using your Apple Pay wallet.

Why some options may appear differently (device / browser / order differences)

Payment options can appear differently depending on:

  • whether you are on desktop vs mobile

  • whether you are on an Apple device (Apple Pay) or a compatible browser/device for Google Pay

  • your checkout session, order details, and what Shopify displays for that session

This does not mean the store is inconsistent. It is normal for some wallet options to appear only on devices that support them.

Website footer payment icons vs checkout display

You may see payment method icons in the website footer or other pages. These icons are meant to indicate the types of payments supported.

However, the final source of truth is always the checkout page, because checkout shows what is available for:

  • your device/browser

  • your location settings

  • your exact order/session

If a payment option is not displayed at checkout for your order, it is not available for that particular checkout session.

Currency

All payments are processed in GBP (£) unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout.

When you are charged

In most cases, payment is captured when you place your order.

Sometimes, your bank/payment provider may show:

  • a temporary authorisation (a pending hold), then

  • the final captured charge

This is normal and handled by your bank/payment provider.

If an order is cancelled or cannot be fulfilled, any captured payment will be refunded in line with our Refund Policy in 10 Business working days.

Payment confirmation and receipts

After you place an order, we send an order confirmation email to the email address used at checkout. This includes:

  • your order number

  • your order summary

Your payment provider (card issuer, PayPal, Shop Pay, Klarna, Apple Pay, or Google Pay) may also provide a separate confirmation or receipt.

Payment security and verification

  • Our website uses HTTPS (SSL) encryption.

  • Card payments are processed through Shopify checkout and approved payment platforms.

  • We do not store full card numbers on our website.

  • Some payments may require bank verification steps such as 3D Secure / Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). If required, you will be prompted during checkout.

Failed, pending, or declined payments

A payment may fail or be declined for reasons outside our control, including:

  • incorrect card details

  • insufficient funds

  • bank security checks

  • wallet verification issues

  • provider restrictions or limits

If your payment is declined:

  • try again,

  • try a different payment method shown at checkout,

  • or contact your bank/payment provider for details.

Refunds

If a refund is approved, it is returned to the original payment method used for the order (for example, card, PayPal, Klarna, etc.).

Refund timing depends on your payment provider and bank and may take several business days after processing. Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details.

Fraud prevention and order verification (protecting customers)

To protect customers and prevent fraud, we may perform reasonable checks, such as:

  • verifying billing/shipping details

  • requesting confirmation for high-risk orders

  • cancelling and refunding orders that cannot be verified or fail security checks

If we need additional information, we will contact you using the details provided at checkout.
